VISION
21ST CENTURY UCONN
   THE ONGOING PURSUIT OF EXCELLENCE

Presently, the program is entering its final few years, with all remaining resources committed to projects in design or under construction. Despite dramatic improvements on our main and regional campuses, a considerable number of classrooms, research, residential and recreational facilities still require attention. The Health Center, which was not part of the UCONN 2000 program, has significant infrastructure needs reflecting the age of its facilities, and new needs reflecting the success of its research endeavors.

UConn warrants further investment. The innovative and nationally recognized UCONN 2000 program has been a model of effective and prudent management. Virtually every facility project has been completed on time and within budget. Given prompt attention, it is possible to maximize the established efficiency and effectiveness of the program in order to address unmet and emerging infrastructure needs. If institutional planning for these unmet needs, including project sequencing and scheduling, can continue uninterrupted, additional cost and unnecessary delay can be avoided.
