A key component of the University's core educational mission is the undergraduate experience. The physical changes occurring on our campuses have helped establish the University's position today as the school of choice for many of Connecticut's highest achieving high school graduates. Undergraduate education has been greatly enhanced by the recruitment of world-class faculty, whose research and teaching is enriched by the modern classroom and laboratory facilities funded by UCONN 2000.

For the past two years, new teaching hires have been among the most talented and diverse in the University's history. UCONN 2000 funds provided the facilities and supplied the startup equipment for these professors - state-of-the-art technology that has been leveraged to recruit faculty and secure significant research funding. This in turn has bolstered our graduate programs, which combine research excellence with outstanding instruction, attracting budding scholars from around the world.
