Instituted plan to do annual state-wide public opinion polling; conducted focus groups; proceeding with plan to hire outside PR counsel for assistance with strategic planning, marketing, visual identity and the development of publications standards.

Hosted prominent international figures (Clinton, Gorbachev, Cosby). Developed and utilized new electronic media for communications (WWW) and established a video/photography library for future outreach and promotion.

2/1/96 In conjunction with the Alumni Association, established the University of Connecticut Advocacy Network (UCAN) and developed and implemented 18 month program.

Hosted biennial Legislator Conference on campus, an orientation program for Connecticut legislators.

Hosted first UConn Alumni Legislation Appreciation Day.

12/1/96 Celebrated Stamford campus expansion and fiftieth canniversaries of the Hartford and Waterbury campuses. Garnered significant media attention for oceanographic work at Avery Point campus.

Develop a strategy for ongoing communication on this topic and assign responsibility.

Produced "Traditions", a quarterly news magazine on UConn research, events and personalities that is targeted to an alumni audience.
